Had AAA tow the car this AM to the shop and they got it in right away. $402.27 later the redid the front brakes, readjsuted the rear brakes and replaced the rack and pinion boot. Also the tranny was way low on fluid for some reason. Time to watch the tranny fluid closely to see if it is leaking from somewhere. Also got an estimate from the Tranny shop $1488.62 to rebuild the transmission and it would take 3 days. Atleast I don't have to come up with that money this week but may soon depending on what the car does. But then again it is cheaper then buying a new car as everything else is in pretty decent shape for a 1993 model year car in IA.
Car is fixed for now!

We put a new trans in our 1997 minivan back in 2005. It is still running today. And the minivan is starting to finally show its wear with some rust on the underside. We're in IL and you know how brutal the salt and snow can be.
